Chazy Yacht Club is located on the tranquil Great Chazy River, connecting you to beautiful Lake Champlain!
We have over 160 slips and are a full service marina located just 8 miles from the Canadian border and 25 miles north of Plattsburgh. Bordered by thousands of acres of farmland, your stay here will be a peaceful one! Docking on the river is protected and secure.
Growing up only a few miles away I have great memories as a kid going to the marina by bike to buy bait, and fish off the docks with my friends. As I got older one of the best birthdays was when I had my boating license at age 10 and getting to rent a boat from the marina to go out fishing on the lake.
After moving away for work after college, I would always come back to the area on weekends in the summer to spend every minute out on Lake Champlain. In 2008 I got the opportunity to move back to the area to work for a local manufacturing company. At that time the thriving marinas on the river had changed.
As we started our family it was a dream to someday see my daughter have the same experiences growing up in the area as I did.
In 2017 we got the opportunity to purchase the original “Lord’s Marina”. A marina once owned by family friends and where some of my fondest memories took place. We immediately began fixing the place up and starting the plans to open the first indoor boat storage area on the Great Chazy River. This would provide storage and dock space for our own boat, along with 13 others.
The spring of 2018 we began construction on the new 9,400 sq foot building, plus repairing and building new docks. We brought in a long-time bait shop operator to open the store for the first time in over 15 years!
Over the years the original property had been divided up, and in the fall of 2018, the opportunity to lease with the option to purchase the Chazy Yacht Club presented itself. This would take the smallest marina on the river to the largest overnight. It also would historically rejoin the lands that were once all one.
Our family loves being out on the lake. Whether we are going out to test our luck catching a few fish after work, hitting one of the beaches on the weekend, or traveling to some of our favorite overnight campsites, it continues to make our favorite memories. Having visited many marinas around the lake we know what boaters look for: clean bathrooms, gas, easy docking, and a place you can pick up the items you need - but most importantly, a safe and secure place to leave your boat that is a family fun and friendly environment.
We look forward to seeing you at our marina and sharing stories and favorite destinations!
